Private protection around a media interview in Zurich. A practical planning overview · read the full guide below

Obtain the production contact

Ask for the producer or studio coordinator responsible for arrival instructions. Confirm the address, call time and identification requirements for the guest and accompanying professional. A broadcaster’s office address may not identify the actual studio, so validate the location supplied for the specific appointment. If the production changes to a remote interview from a hotel, update the address and requested availability rather than assuming the original studio booking remains relevant.

Clarify accompanying access

Ask whether the professional can enter the preparation area, studio or an agreed waiting space. Production and venue approval are required for restricted areas. Do not promise that a private booking guarantees presence during an interview or access to areas controlled by the production organisation. A studio pass issued to the guest does not necessarily include accompanying staff, so obtain explicit confirmation for each person expected to enter.

Separate editorial responsibilities

Questions, recording permissions and publication terms belong with the guest and their communications or legal advisers. The protection professional should not be expected to negotiate editorial content as part of ordinary accompaniment. Share the resulting schedule and practical boundaries rather than confidential negotiation documents unrelated to the service. If a communications adviser attends the interview, include that person in the vehicle and registration arrangements while keeping their editorial role distinct from protection.

Plan overruns and onward travel

Recording schedules can move, and a guest may be asked to remain for additional material. Identify who may approve that change and communicate its effect on personnel hours and the separate chauffeur booking. The final Zurich destination should remain clear even if the interview finishes later than planned. When a recording continues beyond the scheduled finish, ask the authorised representative to approve the revised service period and keep the next host informed.
